about me
online therapy in english for adults

My name is Janine Miller. I am a supervisor and UK-trained and UKCP accredited psychotherapist, originally from South Africa and now based in Sweden.
I have lived in South Africa, the UK and Sweden, and my own experience of navigating different cultures, identities and transitions informs my understanding of what it can feel like to adapt to new environments, search for belonging, and sometimes feel different or outside the norm.
I am particularly interested in the ways our experiences shape who we become - how trauma, relationships, culture, identity and neurodivergence can influence the way we see ourselves, relate to others and move through the world.
I offer a warm, empathic and gently challenging space where people can explore their inner worlds, make sense of experiences that may have felt confusing or overwhelming, and develop greater self-understanding, self-compassion and choice.
I work at the intersections of difference and welcome marginalised identities, including people who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, gender diverse, neurodivergent, non-monogamous and others whose experiences have left them feeling outside of dominant norms. I believe that who we are. where we come from and the experiences we have lived through are important aspects of the therapeutic work.
My experience
Since starting as a trainee therapist in 2005, I have supported people through a range of life experiences and mental health challenges. My experience includes private practise, working with mental health charities, play therapy in primary schools, couples therapy, and managing a live-in therapeutic community supporting people transitioning from hospital back into the community.

I am curious. I facilitate self-exploration and self-expression. I am an active listener and I am deeply moved by what emerges when people are given space and time. I am able to gently guide you on a journey to discover your internal world – sometimes hidden or unseen, sometimes unknown. I encourage the expression of the true self. I support your movement towards wellbeing and self-care. I help you to decide how to get your needs met and to choose how you want to live your life.
